Just south of Reedsport, Oregon on Highway 101 is Winchester Bay at the mouth of the Umpque River. The Winchester Bay area is located in the heart of the Oregon dunes and is home to the Salmon Harbor, miles of undisturbed beaches, abundant wildlife, 30 lakes, 14 developed hiking trails, 13 campgrounds, and 10,000 acres of dune riding! This place has crazy trails and is more friendly to Quads and Bikes, rather then big rails. All you So Cal people, this is a summer time only place.

Directions from Southern California. Take the 5 north for about 800 to 900 miles (depending on where you are) Split this drive into two days and do not arrive at night if it's your first time.Take the Sutherlin OR-138 W exit - exit number 136 - toward Elkerton/Reedsport and continue to follow the OR-138/Elkton Sutherlin HWY for 25 miles. Turn Left onto OR-38/Umqua Hwy for 30 miles. Turn left on HWY 101 in Reedsport, and it's about 4 miles south of Reedsport.
